The Role

Operating a Hydrovac Truck Across Ontario

OE Utility Services is seeking reliable, experienced hydrovac operators to join our team. You will safely operate a hydrovac truck on utility job sites across Ontario — exposing buried infrastructure, slot trenching, and supporting crews on live projects for utility, municipal, and contractor Customers.

The role calls for strong driving skills, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work independently while representing OE professionally on every site.

01

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate a hydrovac truck to expose buried utilities, daylight, pothole, and slot trench
  • Safely position the truck on site and set up properly for excavation
  • Transport and offload spoils to approved disposal or soil recycling facilities
  • Interact professionally with Customers, providing service updates on site
  • Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Follow all safety requirements and comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Complete work orders, time sheets, inspection reports, and daily logs
  • Maintain a clean, organized truck and work area
02

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Class DZ or AZ licence with air brake endorsement
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Working at Heights and WHMIS training — provided if not already current
  • Confined space and first aid certification an asset
  • Hydrovac or vacuum truck experience preferred — in-house training available
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, hose, and materials
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather
  • Strong attention to detail on safety and compliance
  • Able to communicate effectively with dispatch, crews, and Customers
  • Flexible schedule with availability for after-hours or weekend work as needed
03

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay based on experience
  • Full health and benefits package
  • Paid time off and statutory holidays
  • Steady work backed by an established Customer base
  • Modern, well-maintained fleet of 70+ trucks
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Advancement across six regional locations
